For photographic shoots in East London, South Africa.
Our main photography work is taking photographs of accommodation establishments in the East London area. Indoor and outdoor photos of your East London b&b, self catering, or guest house accommodation establishment can help you market your business more effectively, or give you added content appeal for your website.

We also do some digital photo editing, photo enhancing or photo manipulation work.

You receive all your photos on a cd. We do not do printing.

The basic package is R130.
Prices will be going up 1 March 2010, to R250.

We don't do weddings or formal occassions.
NOTE: 2 JANUARY 2010:
We may consider starting to do wedding photography in the East London area too, after being pleased with our recent wedding photography efforts at a cousin's wedding in Cintsa East, near East London.

Wedding photography photo shoots will cost a little more than other photo shoots.



What do we photograph?

* Mostly for businesses, in particular for accommodation establishments in East London, as many of our web design clients are b&b, self catering, or guest house owners - for eg, the photos can be used in a brochure or advertising or on a website.

* Particular themes or subjects, informal outdoor portraits of family and pets, home and garden, interior decor, business, kiddies birthday parties, family reunions or gatherings, parties

* Particular themes or subjects - eg, of your hobby, or special interest or for your business marketing and advertising.

* Particular subjects or objects you would like photographed for possible display on your walls: eg beaches, shells, toys, water theme, rustic or wood theme, sky and cloud theme etc.

* Portraits of family - I suggest wearing denim or navy or blue and black in plain colours no stripes or patterns, and please avoid white. I seldom use flash and take photos mostly outdoors.

* Kiddies birthday parties, informal family gatherings or parties - you want reminders of the event but are too busy hosting or relaxing to take the photos yourself. See Mouse Party



PROCEDURE, and WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR R130?
(From March 2010, R250)

We are presently using a small 5 megapixel camera. This little camera may not sound or look like much, but all the sample photos you view on this website have been taken with the same camera, so have a look through this website and blog and see if you're happy with how the photos look. Wedding photographs we took for a cousin here in East London in December 2009 were also taken with the same little 5 meg camera.

It was this same small camera that was used to take a photo that won the local Buffalo City Tourism photography competition in 2009, where the prize included a small 12 meg camera, which we will start using soon too.

We spend about an hour, sometimes two, taking photos at a venue you and us decide on, eg your business, home, or even at the beach!

If the photo shoot is not very central in East London, we will charge more than R30 for transport, as well as for where you want us to possibly deliver the cd to. You can of course wait a few extra days for when we may be in your delivery area anyway.

We reserve the right to use photos, or give away photos we have taken for our own advertising or publicity. When you agree to have photos taken by us, you automatically agree to this. Often, our own marketing, using photos we have taken for you, generates more interest in your business anyway. We do not, however, resell the photographs, at least not in their original form, or in any form that you have bought from us - We may sometimes, although rarely, sell a photograph again, but only if greatly altered, cropped, or digitally enhanced, and looks nothing like any we sold to you.

R100 is for the shoot which includes you receiving a cd, once we are done compiling it, with usually a minimum of 40 photos on it and up to 100 photos on it. These 40 to 100 photos are the best of what was taken at the shoot (often more than 100 are taken), and are also often enhanced or slightly edited in some way to improve contrast, brightness, colour tones and more. All the original photos will also be included in the cd, even any ones considered not good just in case you would like to have them anyway.

Besides the 40 to 100 best, and often enhanced, photos, we also often include 10 to 20 edited photos - cropped in closer, sepia, black and white, and maybe even two or three special art edits

The R100 fee is just for the 40 to 100 best photos, often slightly edited for improvement. We will also include all the original unedited photos on the cd, but the extra edits are at our discretion and also depends on how much time we have available. We may give you just 5 edits, or we may give you as many as 30.

You can always enquire later about any photo editing work you may want done to some of your other photos, after having seen the edits we included in your cd.

R30 is for transport costs for travelling to and from the shoot venue if fairly central in East London. If fairly central in East London we can usually deliver the cd too, at no extra charge.

We usually have the cd ready for you within 7 to 10 days of the shoot.
